Her Checkered Past at Offbeat Roadhouse

Her Checkered Past, featuring Anne O’Brien and Frank Bechter with Forrest Burtnette on drums, will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday night, May 5, for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU.
This is a free event, open to all. Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door.

Her Checkered Past is a singing-songwriting combo from Charlottesville: Anne O’Brien on guitar and ukulele and Frank Bechter on bass. They play dozens of original songs and cover a wide range of favorites by Patty Griffin, Joni Mitchell, Prince, and David Bowie, to name a few. You can hear them harmonize at local vineyards, markets, and music venues. Their latest EP, “What Was She Thinking,” produced by Rusty Speidel, is available at anneobrienmusic.com and on all music streaming platforms. Multi-instrumentalist, singing, songwriting Forrest Burtnette will join them for this show, hunkered down on drums.
