Cleidsner Bell at Offbeat Roadhouse
By WTJU
Date: 03/24/2023
Time: 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Cleidsner Bell will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday night, March 24, for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU. Somewhere between folk-rockers, Americana twangers, and bar band bangers Cleidsner Bell finds its toe-tappin’, head boppin’, sing-a-long sound.
Cleidsner Bell is a Virginia-grown tour de force, featuring four accomplished veterans of the Commonwealth’s music world for decades. Having wowed UVa and beyond since the ‘80s, SGGL has harmonized their way into the hearts of thousands, and the ’S’ of that act, Rusty Speidel, holds down guitar and vocals in CB. After 15 years with the Nighthawks, and touring with such luminaries as Nils Lofgren, Washington Area Music Awards-decorated Paul Bell shreds the Telecaster with absolute mastery. Anchoring the drums is the ever-ready and steady, Paul Rosner, showing why such acts as Trees on Fire have relied on him as one of the most solid beats on the circuit. Holding down bass duties and vocals is the 31-year co-founder and member of Eddie from Ohio and proud Charlottesville music scenester, Michael Clem.
This is a free event, open to all. Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door.
Offbeat Roadhouse is supported locally by Ting – Bringing light-speed internet to homes and businesses.
