Catch the Charlottesvile Chamber Music Festival on WTJU

The Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival is in its 15th season and this year it runs from September 7th through the 18th. WTJU listeners will have two opportunities to enjoy music from the festival if they are not able to attend themselves.
Ralph Graves will air an hour of the opening concert (performed Sunday, September 7th at Old Cabell hall) on the September 10th edition of Gamut. The concert, in its entirety, will include Franz Shubert’s Violin Sonata in A major, D. 574, Piano Trio in B-flat major, D. 898 and Bohuslav Martinů’sSonata for Cello and Piano, H. 340.
You will also be able to hear an hour of the live concert on Friday the 12th from the Paramount Theater in place of Lambeth Live. Starting at 8pm, the full concert will include such works as Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto in D major ‘La Pastorella,’ RV 95, Cessate, omai cessate, RV 684, along with J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047. A full ist of the pieces that will be performed can be found here.
