WTJU is hiring a full-time Development & Underwriting Officer!

Broadcasting from the University of Virginia since 1957, WTJU is an independent public radio station airing an eclectic mix of folk, jazz, blues, rock, classical, and public affairs.
WTJU is looking for an energetic and versatile person to raise funds for and promote the radio station. With a full-time staff of five people (this position included), the Development & Underwriting Officer is a key member of the team at WTJU. The station has been growing its revenues and community impact over the last several years, and this position will play a central role in continuing that growth.
The Development & Underwriting Officer is primarily responsible for soliciting and maintaining business, non-profit, and foundation underwriting on WTJU. This includes prospecting clients, writing proposals, making sales calls and presentations, maintaining client records, and handling follow-up work.
This position will be responsible for building and managing a portfolio of prospective major donors, cultivating and soliciting major gifts. The position will also help market and promote WTJU with event sponsorships, promotional exchanges, and occasional events.
