Offstage On Air with Philip Clark, Nov 6

By WTJU

Offstage, On-Air is a weekly show highlighting central Virginia’s vibrant classical music community. Each week you’ll hear conversations with local classical musicians, learn about upcoming concerts, and enjoy artist-curated playlists. Tune in Sunday from noon to 1:00pm here on WTJU (91.1 FM and streaming at wtju.net). This week’s guest will be Philip Clark, Music Director of the Albemarle Symphony Orchestra.

The Albemarle Symphony Orchestra, formerly the Crozet Community Orchestra, is a community orchestra with around 70 volunteer musicians of all ages and experience levels. They perform four concerts a year in Charlottesville and Crozet. All performances are free to attend.

On November 19, the orchestra performs a unique program of works by often-neglected female composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. The concert will be held at Grisham Hall on the campus of St. Anne’s-Belfield. On December 10, the orchestra returns to Grisham Hall for a concert of holiday music arranged for orchestra by Philip Clark.
