Are you currently a student at the University of Virginia? Interested in journalism, broadcasting, or current events? Looking for a way to volunteer? If so, learn more about us and join the WTJU Virginia News Team --- the only student-run broadcast news organization on Grounds!

WTJU Virginia News is looking for announcers, writers, and producers to help out with our daily news show. Our news show covers University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and Central Virginia news. Each member of our team is expected to commit 1-2 hours per week and attend a mandatory training session with one of senior staff members.

Interested in writing? Broaden your writing experience as a news reporter for the Virginia News! Students have the opportunity to interview college officials, local politicians, and leaders of local organizations as a reporter for the WTJU Virginia News.

Do you have a good voice, but just are not sure how to use it? Come join our team as an announcer. We will train you the basics of announcing live on air.

Interested in sound bytes and putting the show on the air? Become a producer! WTJU Virginia News is looking for students who can help out with the technical aspects of our show. Students will produce the news and learn how to use our digital editing system and audio console.

No applicant can be considered for involvement with WTJU unless they have a completed application on file. This is per UVA.

Want to get involved? In addition to filing an application, you can email us, or call 434-243-8832.
