Mary Timony and Christina Billotte
or: An Autoclave Family Tree
The short-lived, DC-based Autoclave
brought together two women whose instrumental and vocal skills have
been described by real rock critics as "creepy" and who
went on to creep out many, many music lovers as the personalities
behind Helium and Slant 6. Follow the varied exploits of the members
of that band with Mary Timony and Christina Billote in it. With

That's When The Party Ended: A Tribute
to The Dismemberment Plan
The tilta-whirl rose, and now it must
plummet, to borrow a phrase from J. Robbins. He may not have been
speaking of fellow DC luminaries The Dismemberment Plan, but it is
fitting--2003 marks the end of the Plan. Joe, Eric, Jason, and Travis
have brought us perhaps the finest spasmatic post-punk the world will
ever know. Join Jeff for a final
send-off, featuring material from the
four albums, B-sides, and that smashing Cure cover. 'Cause they'll
always be our heros, even if we never see them again.
