George Melvin Education Fund

With the passing of George Melvin, The Charlottesville Jazz Society felt strongly that we could best honor him by establishing an education fund in his name. We want people to remember George and his life long love of jazz and his commitment to encouraging young and old alike to listen to jazz, to play jazz and to better understand and appreciate this wonderful genre of music. The Charlottesville Jazz Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all proceeds and donations, which are tax deductible, will go to support the creation of the new George Melvin Education Fund. The goal of the George Melvin Education Fund is to identify students with an interest in jazz, who could excel with the benefit of financial support for instruments, lessons, mentoring or other needs.
