Jazz Marathon Live: The Greg Howard Up-Tet

WTJU Special Jazz Marathon Live Performance
The Greg Howard Up-Tet
Monday October 11, 2010, 7pm

Greg Howard

Greg Howard’s chosen instrument, The Chapman Stick, is by no means a traditional jazz instrument. However in Greg’s nimble hands, it can conjure every style of music, from swinging Thelonius Monk standards to Greg’s wonderful Latin flavored compositions, to jazz-rock fusion. Greg is kicking off this year’s jazz marathon in style with his remarkable new band, The Greg Howard Up-tet. This group features a distinctive blend of area talents, including Darrell Rose on African percussion, Gina Sobel on flute, James McGlaughlin on drums, and special guest John D’earth on trumpet. Show your support for our amazing local musicians by calling in your pledge during the broadcast.
