5 pm (est)
Tune in this Thursday afternoon around 5 for the sounds of Buckwild. After a couple shows last week in New York City, this all star trio has two concerts in the Charlottesville area this week; starting with the Black Market Moto Saloon Friday from 6-9 pm. Then Saturday they will be opening for Donna the Buffalo (who will be stopping by WTJU Saturday afternoon) at the Jefferson Theater.
How does one define Buckwild? Old Time and Gospel classics mixed in with an occasional honky tonk or country number from the 1950s. Buckwild is made up of Sabra Guzmán (Old Sledge, The Long Branch Ramblers) on guitar, bass and vocals, Kelley Breiding (Back Step, Red Hots) on guitar, bass, banjo and vocals, who fronts her own band, Kelley and the Cowboys. Brian Vollmer, out of Swannoa/Asheville NC, rounds out this trio by bringing his old time fiddle and banjo to the band, along with his lower vocal register for that sweet third part harmony.
