Kayti Wingfield, Director of Leadership Gifts for Appalachian Voices, will stop by Folk & Beyond this Thursday to talk about the organization's June 21 benefit concert, Artists For Appalachia, at the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville.  We are delighted to announce WTJU will be broadcasting this concert LIVE.

Appalachian Voices
is an award-winning, environmental non-profit committed to protecting the land, air and water of the central and southern Appalachian region, focusing on reducing coal’s impact on the region and advancing our vision for a cleaner energy future.

The special event, “Artists for Appalachia” at the Jefferson Theater, will feature performances and inspirational talks by New York Times best-seller and author of Big Coal, Jeff Goodell, Grammy-award winner Kathy Mattea, rising Kentucky star Daniel Martin Moore, Steel Wheels front man Trent Wagler, Charlottesville folk favorites The Honey Dewdrops, contemporary country-rock fusion band 2/3 Goat, Michael Johnathon of Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour, and Clara Bingham and Bill Haney, producer and director of the award-winning documentary, “The Last Mountain.
