We are delighted to announce WTJU will be broadcasting the “Artists For Appalachia” concert LIVE from the Jefferson Theater on Thursday, June 21.  This benefit concert for Appalachian Voices will feature performances and inspirational talks by New York Times best-seller and author of Big Coal, Jeff Goodell, Grammy-award winner Kathy Mattea, rising Kentucky star Daniel Martin Moore, Steel Wheels front man Trent Wagler, Charlottesville folk favorites The Honey Dewdrops, contemporary country-rock fusion band 2/3 Goat, Michael Johnathon of Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour, and Clara Bingham and Bill Haney, producer and director of the award-winning documentary, “The Last Mountain.


Appalachian Voices is an award-winning, environmental non-profit committed to protecting the land, air and water of the central and southern Appalachian region, focusing on reducing coal’s impact on the region and advancing our vision for a cleaner energy future.
