Saturday, May 25, 2013

8 am to 12 pm (edt)

Atlantic Weekly returns to the Charlottesville City Market this Saturday, May 25, for its regular fourth Saturday of the month broadcast.   There will be live music from Jason Ring at 9 am, and the members of the Blue Ridge Irish Music School Traditional Ensemble will stop by around 11.  Soundboard host Lewis Reining will also chat with some of the vendors.

Jason Ring is known as a "one man country-bluegrass-blues band," and has been characterized by the International Bluegrass Music Association as one of the "Fresh Sounds in the World of Bluegrass" (IBMA, Jan 2008)

Jason regularly plays around the Central VA area, including this Thursday and Friday night at Fardowners Restaurant in Crozet, and later that same Saturday at Blue Mountain Barrel House in Arrington.

The Blue Ridge Irish Music School (BRIMS)
is dedicated to teaching the living art of Irish traditional music and fostering a dynamic environment for it in Central Virginia and beyond.  They have recently started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for their traditional ensemble, instructors and alumnae to record a new CD.
