2014 WTJU Folk Marathon: Dave Evans - Roving Bluegrass with Lee Johnson

as part of the 2014 WTJU Folk Marathon

Guest Host Lee Johnson and Leftover Biscuits host Paul Josey dig into the Rebel archives and celebrate the vocal and banjo mastery of bluegrass great Dave Evans. His big voice, ferocious yet tender, inspired many current singers from his early career in the late 60s with Earl Taylor, to the 70s and 80s as band leader, up until 2006's incredible release, Those Pretty Hills. Having spent time with and written about Dave Evans in the Oxford American magazine, guest host Lee Johnson will bring a host of rare stories to tell to go alongside the music of this living legend.
