Point of Departure heads off with Second Sight in the distance

Point of Departure hosts David Buie-Moltz and Freddie Jin join forces one last time this Monday evening from 7-9 as the program wraps up its seven year journey of an exciting and insightful exploration of avant-garde, free, and spiritual jazz. They first met while subbing for “Anything Goes,” the previous Monday night jazz show. Discovering their shared interest in free jazz, Freddie and David decided to start a new show together.
David will continue on at WTJU in that same timeslot the following Monday, July 8, with his new co-host, Greg Weaver, on the program, Second Sight. You can expect to hear familiar jazz sounds in new, exciting ways — no pretense, just genuine curiosity. Perfect for everyone, from jazz aficionados to newcomers with insatiable appetites for fresh musical frontiers.
While this will be Freddie’s final program at WTJU, you can still catch him on Richmond station, WRIR, where he hosts Banji Kaicho Monday afternoons from 1-3. The program focuses on broadcasting Japanese and Asian music in a wide array of genres.
