"MINDS WIDE OPEN: UVa Celebrates Women in the Arts" event will feature a performance by Stephanie Nakasian, Hod O'Brien, members of the Free Bridge Quintet, and undergraduate musicians (myself on clarinet/sax, Arin Noble on Flute, and Jack Kilby on drums). We will be performing Stephanie's "Great Ladies of Jazz" show, which showcases the chronological progression and different styles of legendary female jazz vocalists (Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters, Helen Ward, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, etc).
