Highly regarded Americana artist Rod Picott will perform in the WTJU studio on Tuesday, March 28, on Walk Right In.

A childhood friend of Slaid Cleaves, Rod grew up in Maine and started his musical journey performing with a number of high-school and after-school rock and punk bands. After graduation, he moved west and performed for a while in various Boulder, CO coffeehouses before moving to Nashville and Music Row. After seven years performing in various clubs and becoming a regular on the club circuit, he received an opening slot on Allison Krauss & Union Station's 1998 tour of the West Coast. Many artists have covered his songs, including Slaid Cleaves and Fred Eaglesmith. He has released three highly acclaimed albums: Tiger Tom Dixon's Blues (2001), Stray Dogs (2003) and Girl from Arkansas (2004) as well as a live album, Travel Log (2005).
